naturfoods™ - imagine working your butt off as a farmer only to be ripped off each and every time you trade - get to know if the coffee you drink is Fair Trade and help farmers of the world

Over some time there has been an increasing number of reports identifying coffee as one of the primary commodities from which traditional farming communities around the globe (e.g. in africa, asia and south and central america) who grow this “beverage” are being ripped off. I recently watched a really powerful documentary, called Black Gold, on the history of coffee and the impact of its “unfair” trade on developing nations. Our valued readers will take comfort in knowing that naturmama® will only ever carry coffee that is organic and grown and accessed on the the principles of fair trade. But ask friends to ask themselves “is my coffee fair trade or has a farmer somewhere in the world worked his butt off and been ripped off  so I can drink it?” Continue to visit the the “fair trade” category in the blog because it, along with the many categories, is a work in progress as I uncover more and more what is going on in the world of commerce in relation to fair trade. Its a burgeoning space where natural lifestylers can and will make a difference.
